Unless you live under a rock, then you’ve probably heard the controversial Pepsi ad that was viciously called out by almost everyone who’ve seen it. No, a can of Pepsi does not make it all alright an unfortunately Pepsi failed to see that.
If they wanted to make a commercial with a social message they better do it right, and this is just what Heineken did. In their newest spot “Worlds Apart,” the beer company brought together pairs of people who knew nothing about each other and who couldn’t be more different in terms of values and beliefs. The ad touched topics that are continuously being fought today such as climate change, traditional gender roles, transgender identities, and feminism. The commercial ends with the simple message: ‘open your mind’.
